FANCY SCHMANCY

A few weeks ago, Natashia from She'sFancy.com approached me to be part of an mini editorial feature!
Despite her cold and the even colder weather, we duked it out and had an amazing shoot!
Be sure to peep the article! :)

POINTE

Photobucket

This past weekend, I got to flex my styling skills alongside my
photographer friend Stella Simona.
I brought tons of clothes and accessories,
but ended up using only a few pieces...
which comes with the territory of being a stylist.
Our model, Noelle, was gorgeous and moved effortlessly,
which made our jobs much easier since the shoot was set on a ballet theme.
Stella and I will definitely have more collaborations to come!
So stay tuned :)

RIDE OR DIE

Words can't express the way my heart almost jumped out of my chest when Kevin called
to tell me he spotted my hand-made bustier on Nicki Minaj
in the August 2010 issue of Black Men Magazine!
Yes ladies and gents, she's rockin' the hell out of my designs! lol

Photobucket

My speech was a bit flustered since I couldn't come up with anything to say,
so I just blurted out a scream of joy instead. lol
And the first chance I got, I rushed down to Barnes & Noble
to snag what came to be their last copy of the mag.
Ms. Harajuku Barbie herself looks quite fierce in her 20-page spread, toting guns and putting the medal to the medal on tricked-out motorcycles.

JADORE DUJOUR

What a perfect way to start off the day!
Earlier this morning, I received an email from the lovely folks over at Dujour Magazine
who informed me that I've been featured on their blog's Personal Style section!

Photobucket

The mag is a eco-friendly, vintage-inspired publication that's dedicated to providing its readers with what's new in fashion with innovative brands, designers, artists,
and other creative types.
I've always had a thing for Dujour's fashion editorials.
They're fresh, chic, and have just the right touch of femininity.
I guess the indie mag really lives up to being "Fashion with Sprinkles on Top."
Be sure to check out my feature along with Dujour's newest "Virgin Issue" at Dujourmag.com! :)

PREMIERE

Although you've probably long forgot about it by now,
I co-styled my first music vid for the new girl group, The Stunners a while back.
And I just found out that the girls have {finally} released their music vid
for their new single,
"Dancing Around the Truth."
As of now, the girls will be touring with Justin Bieber to promote the record,
so be on the lookout for them!

THE BOMB DOT COM

So I just so happened to log into Facebook and noticed that someone left me
a post on my wall saying that they seen me on The Fashion Bomb,
which is one of my favorite blogs.
And after checking out the site for myself,
scrolling past posts about Cassie, Brandy & Ray J,
THERE I AM! lol

Photobucket

You all should definitely peep the site ASAP!!!
Special thanks to The Fashion Bomb for making me the "Bombshell of the Day!"
Aaaah,
what a way to start the day! :)

WATCH OUT HERE I COME

Sheesh!
I'm a busy bee! lol
With the LUX fashion show finally out of my hair,
I have a whole lot of catching up to do with school.
The show was AMAZING, yet the photos have been m.i.a!
I've been trying to get my hands on them,
but it's just my luck that I've received none of them.

Aside from the show, I have some even GREATER news to share with you all!
My amiga Keisa Sullivan let me know that celeb stylist Mr. Bradshaw
was in need of designers for a major magazine shoot!
So of course, she put him in contact with me and my pieces are being shot as we speak!!!
I can't completely reveal which celeb is going to be wearing my pieces,
but I guess I can give you a hint!!!
2 words:
Harajuku Barbie
lol ;)
If you can't figure it out,
then I guess you'll just have to wait for when the issue hits the stands!!!
**This just in!!!**
I just got word that my designs will be part of yet another photoshoot for an
upcoming magazine this Sunday!
Be sure to be on the lookout for a behind-the-scenes peek via Twitter!

Straight Trippin

Today has been quite lame thus far.
The stress of school not to mention the fact that it's been raining cats&dogs here in Riverside for the past week all have put a damper on my mood.

But I was reminded that once the rain lets up,
it's time to let the sunshine in!!! lol

I was just made aware that I've been selected as Don't Trip Yet's Fashionista of the Week!!!
Shout outs to Tanea Monique of DTY for her interest in me.
You made my day! :)

THE KOOL

In early November, I did a collab shoot with my photographer friend Eulogia {aka "Penny"}.
I've been [im]patiently waiting for the photos,
and FINALLY got a few finished flicks from her!!!!
I originally planned on keeping all of the pics under wraps until I got hold of all of them, but
I'm just toooooooo excited && HAD TO show ya! lol
Plus, Starsky aka Tomi of Major Hype posted em on their blog!!!!
SMH! So much for keepin' them on the D.L! hahahha jk

In the pics, I'm rockin' my own designs && I styled myself! lol
How often do you see THAT?!
A designer who rocks her own gear?? && WELL! hahahahhaha lol
I don't mean to sound cocky,
but I'm proud of the progress that I've made this year,
and I'm NOT slowing down for ANYONE!!
Kooley is on the up&&up folkz!
WATCH OUT!!!! ;)

I hand picked my favorites to share with you! ;)

MAKING THE VIDEO

As I mentioned before,
The Stunners {the young/fresh&&new girl group} recently shot their music video for their upbeat song, "Dancing Around the Truth."
{Directed by Smallz & Raskind}
&& sure enough, I got to style the video!!!
I worked alongside Rebecca of Chic Little Devil Style House
to make the girls look fantabulous!!!
The shoot was an all-day endeavor, but we had a lot of fun on && off the set.
The girls' EP just released this week on iTunes,
so you HAVE TO take a listen && buy the tracks!!

The music video hasn't released just yet,
so until it does,
I'll leave you with some behind-the scenes footage! :)

***The Stunners also recently appeared on Extra!***
I wanted to watch it on t.v., but missed it :/
Yet since Youtube is the source for any && all things,
I was able to find the vid of the girls' appearance.
{Looking fab by the way in Chic Little Devil attire :) }

MAKE IT WORK

Goodness gracious,
where do I start!?! lol
I've been soooooooooooo BUSY with a gazillion things!
&& I'm still moving at at 1,000 miles a minute!
I've gotta fill you in on the deets!::

This past Friday, Chic Little Devil Style House {aka my internship} hosted an event
alongside Project Runway's Jerell Scott & Korto Momolu!!
Held in the penthouse of Fashion District's Cooper Building, it was the official after-party to L.A. Fashion Week!
The guestlist was overflowing with a craaazy amount of names,
celebs && even more fab folks.

I arrived early to help with the set up of things, and then once 8 o'clock hit,
I got the freedom to partay! lol
My friend Brittany came, along with my friend Dorothy from Dot Magazine
&& my boys Brian Timothy & Tomi of Major Hype Clothing.
Among the funky-fresh fashion crowd were many people who dressed to impress,
as well as those dressed to.......well,
I don't know what they were trying to do lol
Stephanie Pratt
and the lovely ladies from The Stunners
were all looking lovely.
I even spotted one of my favorite bloggers, Jazzi McGilbert.
I must admit, I was a bit blog-struck {?} lol && wanted to say hello,
but I could only catch a quick glimpse of her as she darted for the elevator.

Of course the highlight of the night was the FASHION!
Korto Momolu's collection was presented first,

&& Jerell's masterpieces came thereafter.

Both designers blew my mind with their collections!
Everyone couldn't help but ooh and aah as each model strutted her stuff.
I was definitely inspired :)

Saturday was my sister Taylor's homecoming dance.
I was so excited to see her all dolled up,
yet as soon as I got on the freeway
my tire blew out!!!
Lord knows that in 20 years of being on this earth,
I've barely touched let alone changed a tire! lol
I completely missed seeing my sister off before she left for the dance,
but my friends Cate && Tomi both came to the rescue!
Mmm..I guess in all actuality,
Cate didn't really rescue me since she didn't know how to change a tire either!
But I will give it to her, she did have the jack lol

After finally being able to make it home, I pulled an all-nighter,
sewing the chic-est blazer in my closet!
I planned on putting it in my fashion show that I have this Friday,
but we'll see.
Sewing non-stop like a maniac,
I decided that it would probably be smartest to go to bed once I read 6:30 on my alarm clock. {that's right: 6:30 a.m.! lol}
I hit the sheets for a few hours then woke up to it being Sunday.

I only slept for a few hours before it was time for me to wake up and
make my way to Fullerton for the filming of the
"Out of Order" film that I told you my line was going to be featured in!
My friend Corey from Planet Afreeka was there to dress the guys in the film while I used my clothes to dress the girls.
I had a lot of fun at the shoot, even though it was VERY long && full of
me waiting for someone to tell me they needed me.
In the meantime, I dug into some heavy conversations with the crew lol
I also met Eulogia {known by many as "Penny,"}
who is a PHENOMENAL 19 year old female photographer!
We talked for quite some time, && she told me how busy she's been with working at
L.A. Fashion Week!
We exchanged all of our contact info && have vowed
that we HAVE TO collab on a photo shoot ASAP!

WHEW!
That was a lot going on for such a short period of time lol
But hey, that's my life! lol
Hectic, busy, && full of surprises!!! :)

What's new on my agenda?
Sewing 10 new pieces for my collection by Friday!
I know the goal is pretty steep,
but I'm used to feeling like I'm in a pressure cooker! lol
Like Tim Gunn says, "Make it work." ;)
