VANITY VID: MY AWESOME SPRING/SUMMER FASHION HAUL!!!

On Monday {March 21st}, I celebrated my 22nd birthday!
I truly appreciate all of your birthday wishes :)
In lieu of that and my tax return, I did a bit of shopping......Okay...a LOT of shopping! haha
I grabbed some great things from Asos, Forever 21, H&M and Cotton On for the upcoming Spring/Summer season.
And with these new additions to my already massive wardrobe, I'm definitely set for months and months to come.

UP FOR GRABS: VINTAGE UNISEX ARTSY PRINT SHIRT

After much consideration, I decided to sell this shirt.
I've worn it a few times, and since my closet is so massive, it's gotten lost among all of the other crazy stuff that I have.
Since summer is quickly on its way, I know this would be of good use to somebody out there! lol
Although it is technically a men's shirt, it definitely has universal appeal.
Check out this funky shirt and more vintage items in the online shop!

THEY TRIED TO MAKE ME GO TO REHAB

Hi.
My name is Kameron, and I'm a shopaholic. lol

I need to stop shopping.
Seriously.
I know a closet full of clothes/shoes/accessories is expected
for most blogging fashionistas to have,
but unlike many of them,
I'm not down with being in debt because of my fashion obsessions.

A chill pill is definitely much needed when it comes to my spending.
And because of the fact that I don't have daddy's credit cards
{or anyone else's money for that matter} to fall back on,
I have to be smart about this shopping biz.
Paying my rent, bills, and car insurance are amongst my many expenses....
oh, and food. lol
Homelessness is NOT an option, regardless of how chic of a bum I would be. lol
Plus, it's too friggin' cold!
And with me trying to go to London for grad school next fall,
I need to clench tight every penny I've got!

When {not if} I go to London, it's going to suck to have to ship all of my stuff!
So I need to do a whole lotta downsizing in the meantime.
As far as clothing goes, I'm dunzo.
But when it comes to shoes, I can't call it completely quits until I get my paws on
some Jeffrey Campbell kicks that I've been drooling over...{Lita's preferably.}
THEN I'll be done. lol

SHOPPING MADNESS

After a LONNNNG, excruciating lapse of not being able to buy anything outside of the necessary
gas for my car, pesky bills, and food for the fridge,
I was finally able to indulge in an extremely overdue shopping trip!

My roommate Brandi and I hit the mall on Wednesday.
Yet once we realized most of our money had dwindled away in only about an hour,
we made our way to one of my favorite thrift spots.

My first time at this particular thrift store was....mmmm...aiiiiight. lol
I got some pretty cool stuff,
but for some reason,
yesterday's trip was the most AMAZING experience I've ever had thrifting!
There were soooooo many items that I snatched up,
and they had tons of shoes {which was an area they were lacking in upon my first visit}.
In all, I spent 68 bucks and walked away with a huge plastic bag of goodies...
the bag was so big, I felt like I had a Quasimodo-hunch while carrying it on my back. O_o

I didn't want to bombard you all with photos of everything I got,
{primarily because it would take at least 50 snapshots lol}
so I decided to do yet another video haul!
Enjoy!

My MASSIVE thrift haul.

My "mall haul." lol

P.S. I definitely think I'm going to start an online store.
I know I've been saying that for some time now,
but this recent thrifting adventure caused me to find tons of stuff.
Though there were plenty things that I knew I wouldn't necessarily wear,
because they're so fabulous, I felt like SOMEBODY out there has to have them! lol
Plus, I need to do some closet cleansing.
I'm not sure if I want to go the Ebay route or use BigCartel.
Either way, be on the lOOkout!

THRIFTED TREASURES

Oh, the joy of thrifting. :)
I've always been a fan of getting a whole lotta bang for my buck,
which is a bargain hunter's most infamous quality that I'm pretty sure derived from my mom.
Thrift shopping has definitely helped me to add dope one-of-a-kind pieces to my closet
without breaking the bank.
Cuh-ching! lol

ISLAND GIRL

While I've always found myself obsessing over countless vintage items I've discovered on Ebay,
it took me a while before I could actually gain the nerve to actually purchase something.
I think my apprehension was rooted in my mom's voice buzzing in my ear,
where I'd hear a mantra of her parental rants of anxiety about her concerns with online shopping scams.
But after brushing off the worry, I decided to take my chances in my purchase of a few vintage finds.

RETRO REVOLUTION

Thank God for vintage vendors!!! lol
I scored this awesome abstract-printed skirt last week from
the amazing Moya, who is a traveling vintage seller by way of San Diego.
Apparently my school has a fair at the midpoint of every quarter for folks to set up shop
and sell their goods to shopping fiends alike myself.
Although there was another small booth where a pair of OC girls were selling
their vintage finds,
I had to check out what Moya had to offer.
I guess you can call me a loyal customer ;)
Lace nighties, acid wash denim, funky hats, and boots galore!
After digging through trunks and rummaging through racks,
I grabbed the skirt, a holey green marina, a bright pink dress with structured shoulders,
and a dope cheetah print leotard.
I know it sounds like A LOT going on,
but these fab finds will definitely be part of my summer attire.

A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

It's a personal relief of mine to discover fashionable finds that
scream out for attention.
Bright colors and abstract prints are exciting ways to distinguish yourself
from the blah, the bland, and the boring.
I love spotting pieces that you can't help but stare at;
things that spark interesting conversations.
With that being said,
I wanted to share with you all a few funky ensembles that
will surely add vibrance to any closet!

MY CHERIE AMOR

l o v e .

What would life be without it?
I never understood why people can be so bitter when it comes to Valentine's Day.
Of course we have people in our lives that we love {family/friends},
but it also includes remembering the things that we have a true passion for.
Valentine's Day is not only about celebrating the bond you share with those close to you,
it's also about embracing your own self-worth.
Whether you're livin' single, or have that special someone to snuggle up to,
the most important person that you can't forget about is...YOU! :)
So with that said,
❤HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!❤

Treat yourself to being primped && pampered, as you should be!
Or better yet, have someone do it all for ya! lol

Since Kevin has planned our V-Days for the last few years, it's my turn to be the romantic.
Dinner & a movie is what's in store for us,
yet as always, I have a few other tricks up my sleeve ;)
I can't give too much away because he's probably reading this post! hahahah
But through all of the mayhem that we've put each other through,
I can definitely say that my list of not-so-great times can't even compare to all of the pages of the good.
I'm usually very good with words, but he makes me feel all mushy inside
{as corny as that may sound}.
One of my favorite songs is "He loves me" by the phenomenal Jill Scott.
It's probably the best song that describes my love for him.
Beyonce's rendition of it blew me away, so I'd like to share it with you all!
Enjoy!

Here's a handful of items that I've had my eye on.
I guess you can call it my V-Day wishlist ;)

Forever 21 is one of the country's leading retailers.
With their chic finds and even more fab prices,
what more can you ask for as a shopaholic?!?!
It's no secret that I'm an avid && loyal F21 customer. lol
And in browsing the online site earlier today,
I came across Forever's brand new release of their Twist line!
Full of stylish rompers, polka dotted cardigans, and sailor boy stripes,
the limited edition collection takes on the era of the 1950s.
Upon flipping through the lookbook set in a diner
remniscent of the old school show "Happy Days,"
you'll find Kendall Jenner {lil' sis of Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian}
to be the modern poster-girl for the collection!
She looks adorable!

Find these looks && more over at Forever21.com!!! :)
Hurry!
The Twist line is only available for a limited time!
Happy shopping!

Chiggity Check

Hi.
My name is Kameron Simpson,
and I'm addicted to shopping! lol

Alike most fashionistas, I have a guilty pleasure for spending money on fabulous things.
It's one of those obsessions that will never cease to rule my pockets.
And with payday being right around the corner,
scooping up more funky pieces to add to my closet
is most definitely a must! :)

Dear Summer

When reading consistent tweets, blog posts, and articles about
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week this year,
you tend to get a bit envious of all of the lucky fashion goers
that've been granted access to the industry's most anticipated event.
{..or maybe that's just me lol}

Not only have I been itching with anxiety to view all of the collections,
I've been looking forward to doing some serious shopping as the fall season arrives.
Here's a handful of items that I definitely have to have in my closet
by the time this summer heat ends.

On a little side note, I just moved into my new apartment!!!!
It feel sooooo good to have a place to call your own,
and this is definitely the greatest step I can take toward Mz. Independent Road lol
I'm STILL unpacking {even though I moved in on Saturday},
and I'm whipping up a handful of new creations for my line.
I can finally spread out and get to cuttin' && sewin', rather than being annoyed at my mom yelling at me for leaving patterns and fabric pieces in the middle of the living room floor lol
Once I get completely settled in, I'll give you all a peek into my humble abode :)
